Asian Tour: Gay Japan - $100 Off

Come on Oscar Wilde Tours and Out Asia’s LGBTQ+ history and art tour of Japan.  See the beautiful temples of Kyoto, relax in a traditional hot spring spa by Mount Fuji, experience a Japanese tea ceremony, ride on a bullet train—and learn about Japan’s LGBTQ+ side while doing it, from the time when (supposedly) monks brought same-sex love from China to Japan’s Buddhist monasteries and Samurai warriors to the elegant “pleasure quarters” of the 17th and 18th centuries to today’s Shinjuku Ni-chome gay town and its 300 bars. Save $100 when you mention The Men Event

Gay History Walking Tour of the West Village

We all know about the Stonewall riots in 1969. But who knows that Mae West was arrested in Manhattan for producing a pro-gay-rights play in 1926? Or that Walt Whitman read his homoerotic poems to friends at a bar on Broadway? Professor Andrew Lear has designed this tour to bring New York's gay *history* out of the closet.  We leave from the historic Stonewall Inn (come early or stay after to enjoy an adult beverage). POSTPONED-Gay Secrets of the Met Tour

Join The Men Event for the most popular tour of the Met, led by one of the world authorities on Gay art. You will explore some of the Met's queer treasures, from ancient Greek nudes (and erotic vase-painting, on which Professor Lear is a world expert!) to homoerotic works from the Renaissance, and a panoply of modern works, some by LGBT artists, some portraying LGBT people, and some expressing same-sex desire. Famous artists and personalities, such as Caravaggio or Gertrude Stein, will appear-but so will lesser-known artists and works whose homoerotic charge is often ignored (including images used in homosexual initiation rites in New Guinea!).
