Tour: The Highline is New York's most popular new attraction! The Highline is an elevated freight train trestle that operated in NYC from the 1930's to the 1980's. After years of neglect The Friends of The Highline have saved the structure and transformed it into a beautiful park featuring many of the elements from its' rich history! We will have amazing photo's to share with you from before the trestle was built, while it was in operation and what it looked like while abandoned. Join us for a fun evening of socializing and learning. Following the tour the group will go to Bone Lick Park for the Happy Hour Party and karaoke (great bbq and $3.90 mojitos and margaritas).
What to Wear: Dress casual/business casual. Wear comfortable shoes.
What to Bring: maybe a bottle of water for the walk and your sense of adventure!
What to Expect: 20 to 30 fun and friendly people who are looking to make new friends and learn a little about the city.
Meeting Place & Time: Check in from 6-6:30pm at Gastro Market, 315 10th Avenue, at 28th Street. We will leave right at 6:30pm, but Gastro Market features a great collection of beers you might not have ever heard of, served in fun jelly jars. Come early and try one.
Note: While the drinks at Gastro Market are super affordable (again, try a beer in a jelly jar), Bone Lick's food amazing, and their drink specials yummy and inexpensive, the tour does not include food or beverages.
