Twenty years ago, Basil Twist debuted his Symphonie Fantastique -- a unique response, using puppetry, to the Berlioz work of the same name -- to acclaim at HERE. In the 20 years since, Twist has become an internationally recognized artist in opera, ballet, and on Broadway, and has won countless awards, including the illustrious MacArthur Fellowship. He will revisit his legendary masterpiece as part of HERE's 25th Anniversary Season, joined live by virtuosic pianist Christopher O'Riley playing the exquisite Liszt transcription, as Symphonie floats and swirls in a 1,000-gallon water tank neatly disguised as a puppet stage.

The story explores how such a tragedy can permanently and painfully transform the life of a young woman.
