Thoughts from a Gay Marketer

I saw the opening of BOYS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN last night at the
Actors Playhouse. Full disclosure - I work on the show.
I dont have to say this here (blogs are about honesty, right?),
but it is a really cute show. There were at least 3 hotties
on stage that I would totally love to date, and about 40 in the
audience. Why do gay plays get such a cute audience???
Hot! Met lots of celebritites (gay and straight - seems the
author works in TV and lots of his colleagues showed to support),
and totally made an ass out of myself for not recognising one.
I was talking to him and and said - what do you do?? He said
- I am the anchor of Channel --'s morning news. Foot in mouth!
i should flip the channels and not just stick to the Today Show.
Anyway - cute show - check it out.
My
obsession with Target and Costco continues as I make my monthly
excursion today. Hope to find some nifty items. Looking
for a hammock for the Jeffersonville house. Anyone else up
in Sullivan County? That place is over run with cute gays
out for their weekends. Nice views all around!

I
have been a Baaaaad boy! Too much travelling (Vegas 2x, London,
Gay Cruise, LA) and no time spent on this blog. I am sure
you have found other gay-fabulous readings to occupy your time,
but here are some things you might want to check out.

“Rock
Bottom” Opens NYC's QUAD Cinema March 2 nd
“A
startling, sobering look at Crystal Meth addiction.”
-
The Advocate
“Startling…captures
the vicious cycle of use, sobriety and relapse.”

“Rock Bottom – Gay Men & Meth” will have its
theatrical premiere at NYC's Quad Cinema beginning March 2nd . The
filmmakers will be present for the 7:40 pm screenings Friday and
Saturday and Sunday of opening weekend.
The
Filmmakers are pleased to announce the award-winning cult classic
short-subject “ Karen Black Like Me ” will play
before “Rock Bottom.” Writer/Director David Brigg's camp send-up
of “Trilogy of Terror” features Ira Rosenberg and the wonderful
Anita Gillette (Moonstruck, Boys on the Side).
About
“Rock Bottom – Gay Men & Meth”
Rock
Bottom follows the journeys of seven gay men struggling with meth
addiction and recovery against a backdrop of an emerging second
wave of HIV infection. From grappling with the drug's effects
on their physical and mental health to restling with their darkest
sexual desires, Rock Bottom delivers a chilling portrait of a community
in crisis. With an unflinching eye the film captures their
stories over a two-year period, from sex clubs to hospitals to family
gatherings. It takes enormous courage to face these demons,
and even more to allow the world to watch.
For
anyone struggling with meth addiction, or anyone trying to help
someone in trouble, Rock Bottom will offer hope that change can
happen, and insight into how change begins. For nyone thinking
they can play with meth and not get caught up, the film will be
a cautionary tale of how wrong they might be .

HAPPY
NEW YEAR!

I
had such am amazing time at the Times Square Alliance VIP party!
What a thrill to be right there in the middle of Times Square, amidst
all of the hub-bub and excitement, meeting new friends (Javier and
David - two news industry guys who met on a commuter train ...I
love those odd love stories of fate. It was pretty clear that they
were meant for each other. Anyhooo I think we are going to
be good friends). I went to the party with Thierry, Gunner
and Andrew. See if you can tell who is who from my party
pics.
Anyway,
I have some resolutions for yall.
1)
I desire to keep my blog up to date. At least one entry per
week, hopefully more.
2)
I desire to make it to the gym far more often. I tried to
go this am, but i had a great excuse at the time.
3)
I desire to not get so addicted to my Treo and not to checking my
work email more than twice after I leave work.
4)
I am sure I have more resolutions, but they all boil down to being
a good boy often and taking the time to have more fun. Who
want's to join me??
i saw Grey
Gardens tonight. Loved it, but Ms. Ebersol was not on.
I don't know if she was on vacation or just taking the night off
to watch a law and order marathon, but the understudy was very very
good. And MATT CAVANAUGH is still the hottest young male heartthrob
on Broadway. I fell in lust with him when I saw his 10-pak
starring in Urban Cowboy. He does not take his shirt off in
Grey Gardens (sniff sniff), but he is still damn sexy.

RETIREMENT BRIAN
Being
the lucky gay boy that I am, I was fortunate to be invited to Brian
Landeche's (the hot blond owner of Splash) retirement party at the
Rainbow Room. The event was awash in gay fabulousness and
celebs. Brian was an amazing businessman and created a space
with international appeal - a place where many a friend was made
and relationship started. Of course, there were lots of hot
cocktail servers in next to nothing (hubba hubba).
NOVEMBER
A BIG MONTH - 4 events
We
are promoting 4 events this month, so no excuses for being a wall-flower.
Lots of chances to come on out. Here they are:
- Nov 1 - Chelsea Connex
at Splash
- Nov 13 - Private GAY
shopping night at Foremost Furniture
- Nov 18 & 19 - Big
Gay LIfe Expo at the Javits Center
- Nov 29 - Times Square
Social at Club T (the space was amazing wasnt it?)
Big
Celebs at TIMES SQUARE SOCIAL
The
last few Times Square Social events have super swamped with Celebs.
Amy Sedaris was amazing, and god knows she loves her gays.
The last event had Gov McGreevey and his handsome Australian
BF. Both were sweet and posed for all sorts of pics
with the partygoers. Then, when 9pm arrived, it was like a
mass exodus to make it home in time for the season finale of Project
Runway. What were we thinking? Daring to hold our event
on the evening of the Gay Superbowl!
